The Buttered Story

Knowing who you are!

My name is Tammy and I am the founder, creator and chief whipster at Buttered. I am a daughter, sister, friend, neighbor, life-long learner, lover of children and doggies, and all things natural. I was born and raised in the great state of Michigan and have lived for short periods in Georgia and California. Currently, I reside in sunny Phoenix, Arizona, where my naturalista journey began 11 years ago. It all started with me embracing my natural hair with all of it’s quirks, curls and textures. Being a naturalista, I gradually learned about organic products as being the perfect nourishment for my natural hair and skin. In 2015, I started making body scrubs as Christmas presents for co-workers and family. My beautiful sister fell in love with my scrubs and said “hey, you should sell them”. I started small by creating custom scrub blends for patrons of my sister’s boutique. In 2016, I was attending an art fair with a good friend who mentioned “why don’t you make body butters in addition to scrubs”? From that point, I started researching and testing natural butters, textures and scents. Soon after, I perfected my body butter blend and started making them for a few people.

In the fall of 2017, I took a 4 week introduction to entrepreneurship class at Grand Canyon University. That catapulted me into the world of small business. The class provided so much inspiration and support for me starting out. As a life-long learner, I continued my education by enrolling in the Entrepreneur 101 class through HustlePhx (https://www.hustlephx.com/) . The class, the mentors and my classmates have been my rock!! They are absolutely amazing!!! They have poured so much into me and have guided to what Buttered is today and what it will be as it progresses.

I thank you for visiting the Buttered page and supporting Buttered products. This is truly a labor of love for me as my goal is simple, to provide the best organic nourishment for the naturally beautiful, embraceable you!
